Timothy McSweeney's Internet Tendency
The best site on the internet. The home of the whole McSweeney's publishing conglomorate - McSweeney's Quarterly, the Believer, Wholphin, lots and lots of spiffy and weird books, and new stories every day. First place I go every morning.

Findlaw's Writ
I started hanging out on Findlaw around the time of Bush v. Gore (531 U.S. 98) or so, maybe back as far as BSA v. Dale (530 U.S. 640). At the time, they had all the interesting legal documents - now sometimes they are a bit behind what I'm interested in. However Writ, their legal commentary section, is fascinating and makes for very informative potty breaks.

Playbill Online
The source of all things theatrical. The only place to get this information in most of the country, too. Most important for me, of course, is the "Upcoming Cast Recordings" List, tho it's now about 4 months out of date.

California Secretary of State's Initiative Status
The first of two pages used to keep track of what crap the people of this state think they need and the legislature can't offer. 9 times out of 10, these things are stupid and/or wrong-headed. Plus, once the people pass them, we're stuck with them forever. Not always up to date, but pretty close.

Query Letters I Love
A blog by some (now deceased) Hollywood type who would put up some of the more ridiculous or poorly written movie pitches he got. It's embarassing how bad they are. It's looking like as of the New Year it's not being updated any more, but I'll wait and see.

Congressional Record
Where else are you gonna see what Congress is up to? Assuming you care what Congress is up to...

Mathpuzzle.com
A blow about recreational mathematics, inspired by the efforts of Martin Gardiner. Not as appealing to me as it used to be, but it's still a regular visit.

US Supreme Court
More or less the last chance to get the laws fixed, cause you know the Congress ain't gonna do it.
